History

Grand Ridge Brewery is one of Australia’s first and most recognised craft breweries. A 100% Australian, family owned company, the brewery is housed in an old butter factory in Mirboo North, a country town in the stunning Victorian Strzelecki Ranges. Grand Ridge use only the highest quality ingredients (spring water, high quality hops, malt and yeast) to produce beers of exceptional flavour and purity.

Grand Ridge is at the top of the list in high quality beers. All the beers are produced to exceptionally high standards of flavour and purity, with no added chemicals or preservatives.  This typically results in a far less severe hangover, if any at all.

At Grand Ridge the quality of the beer is never compromised. The mission at Grand Ridge is always to make the best beer in the world.

These incomparable brewing processes have helped Grand Ridge win over 250 medals for their pure beers, making them one of the world's most awarded breweries.

Grand Ridge Brewery's passion for pure products doesn't end with the beers, a variety of local wine and gourmet Gippsland cheeses are available from the Restaurant, specialising in steaks and superb local produce.

Grand Ridge also offer two beautiful guest houses for those who wish to stay a little longer and really enjoy the beers.

The quality of the Grand Ridge beers has been recognised over the years with over 250 Australian and International beer awards won.

Some of the earliest awards were won at the Australian and International Beer Awards in 2002 where Grand Ridge was awarded 29 medals (more than any other brewery in the world including all 19 countries represented), this was followed by 21 medals won in 2003 including 6 best of class winners (double any other brewery in the world) plus awarded Victoria's best beer - Premiers Trophy in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

More recently at the 2016 AIBA awards where entries reached a record 1,700 brews from more than 344 brewers in 35 countries, Grand Ridge was awarded 2 medals, Supershine won silver for best barley / wheat wine and our new Golden Ale won bronze for best english summer /british style ale.

At Grand Ridge we have as much pride in our work as we do for the land from which it was grown. We have been an environmentally conscious company since 1989, always brewing 100% pure beers with no added chemicals, preservatives or sugars and ensuring all Grand Ridge packaging is fully recyclable.

We’ve now taken it one step further and become environmentally active!

Last year Grand Ridge successfully converted the majority of the brewery’s power sources to solar with 384 solar panels installed on site.

Twisted Sister Cider is the latest project for Grand Ridge Brewery.

The new range of craft cider was the brainchild of owner Eric’s 4 daughters who were keen to see the business expand in to the growing cider market. Eric’s three eldest daughters enjoy cider and wanted to be able to enjoy a drink while supporting the family business.

The Twisted Sister Craft Cider range offers both Apple and Pear varieties made using no added sugar, no concentrates and 100% Gippsland fruit and are gluten free and vegan friendly.
